The Prospero® Calculation Engine supports regular mathematical expressions (formulas) as well as numerous calculation functions. Standard math rules are in effect as well including precedence of operators, etc. (Exponents are shown using the carat symbol: 3^2=9).
The Prospero Calculation Engine provides you with the ability to enter your calculations and functions directly in to the Line and Column Definition Formula fields. Additionally, in the Line Definition, the Formula field allows you to select the ellipsis button to open the Calculations window. The Calculations window is designed to assist you in creating complex multi-line or conditional calculations.
Prospero allows you to copy/paste your calculations from one line, column or cell to another in the Line and Column Definitions. Also, in the Calculation window from the Line Definition, you can copy and paste between multi-line calculations (use right-click and Copy / Paste functions). Also, should you need to re-order your multi-line calculations, you can drag and drop calculation rows within the Calculations window into any order you require.
For more information on creating your formulas step-by-step, see the section Creating Formula Calculations.
