Prospero Administrators have the option to send messages to users or to lock users out of the system. The System Locks and Message feature allows you to periodically lock down the system and send informational messages to users. This feature also allows you to prevent users from logging in if necessary.
The System Locks and Messages option is available from the Security Navigation Pane.
To send a message to all users of the system, check the “Enable system-wide message” checkbox and type up to 250 characters into the text box. The message will then be presented to users when they next log into the system.
Check the “Lock all users out of system” checkbox to make the system unavailable to non-administrative users. When checked, users will be will be prevented from logging in and will receive the message specified in the Message for System Lock text box. If the field is left blank, a standard message that the system is locked will be provided at login. Any Administrative users will receive the message, but will be able to continue to log into the system.
In addition, when the “Lock all users out of the system” checkbox is selected, the “Locked” checkbox will appear on the Entity Management screen for that entity. The “Locked” checkbox cannot be edited from the Entity Management screen.
