Using Multiple Prompts When Running Reports

Prospero allows you to run your reports for multiple prompts at run time. In short, you can select multiple segment values as prompts for your report from the Report Options screen. When the report is run, the  result is that a report will be sent to each Output destination for each set of prompts selected.

To run a Report Definition for multiple prompts:

1.  Click on the Reports bar to open the Reports Navigation Pane.

2.  Select a Report Definition and double-click to open the report in the workspace.

3.  Select the Run the Report   option to run the report.

4.  In the Report Options screen, select one of the prompt ellipsis buttons.

5.  Select multiple prompt options. (You can multi-select using the CTRL + mouse-click.)

6.  Select OK to populate the prompt with your selections. (Where you’ve selected multiple prompt values, the segment Label will show as “multiple”.)

7.  Select OK to run the report. A progress meter will appear that indicates the number of reports that are being processed.

8.  Thereafter, a version of that report will be returned to your specified Output destination for each permutation of the prompts selected. If one or all of the possible report permutations do not return data, you will receive the following dialog to review which will indicate which of the segment combinations did not return data.

However, if you do not execute the report for multiple prompts and have no data returned, you will receive the following warning message that no data could be returned.
