The Indent field allows you to specify the number of spaces that the text will be indented in an expanded line. This numeric value is a default of 5 spaces with a maximum of 10 and a minimum of 0, however the default can be adjusted as required. For more information see Options Formatting Defaults.
In the Line Definition row, you can increase or decrease the non-0 value on the Indent cell using the Indentation options on the Line Tools Definition context ribbon.
Indentation will be shown in the Lines Preview Pane although actual spacing will appear different when using non-proportional fonts (i.e. Courier) versus proportional fonts (i.e. Arial). Proportional fonts utilize blank spaces which are narrower than text resulting in the appearance of fewer spaces indicated on the indent.
Note: If the Formatting Fields checkbox is not checked on the context ribbon, this field will not appear in the Line Definition workspace.
