A Power User license allows an individual to have access to all permissions (i.e. the features and functions) in Prospero. In addition to defining and executing reports, these are the permissions associated with managing Prospero security, building blocks, segments, and data import / export and integration tasks.
A Power User license is required for user accounts associated to the default Administrator or Designer Roles and is required for one or all of the following permissions:
Administrative Roles
• Administer Security – This permission grants access to all features and functions on the Security Navigation Pane such as User Definition and System Locks and Messages.
Note: The Administer Security permission is required to be able to delete Prospero Users and Roles.
• Maintain Entities – This permission allows management of elements on the Configuration Navigation Pane, such as adding, managing or deleting Entities, Book Codes, Number Formats and Calendars.
• Maintain Users and Roles – This permission allows for the addition or modification of Roles and Users, assignment of permissions, and the changing of passwords.
Note: The Administer Security permission is required to be able to delete Prospero Users and Roles.
• Maintain Segment Definition – This permission allows the addition, modification and deletion of Segments.
• Manage Currency Module – This permission allows for currency definitions to be added, modified or deleted. This permission is required for Prospero Currency Module functionality. For more information see Currency.
Setup Roles
• Maintain Report – This permission allows the creation, modification and deletion of Report Definitions.
• Maintain Building Blocks – This permission allows the creation, modification and deletion of Column and Line Definitions.
• Maintain Trees – This permission allows the creation, modification and deletion of Tree Definitions.
• Maintain Segment Values – This permission allows the creation, modification and deletion of Segment information contained in a Segment’s worksheet.
The Power User License allows you to grant any permission – including those which are only associated to the Standard User or Limited User licenses. See Standard User License and Limited User License for more information.
Note: While a Power User license can be associated to any Role which has fewer permissions, a Standard User or Limited User license cannot be associated to a Role which has these greater permissions. In short, associating a Power User license to an individual that requires only limited Prospero functionality – and thereby permissions - is not necessarily the best utilization of that license.
