In your organization, certain individuals may be required to perform tasks or functions in Prospero in addition to simply executing pre-defined reports in read-only mode. In this instance, a Standard User license is used when users do not require Administrative-level permissions but do require more permissions than is granted by a Limited User license.
A Standard User license is required for user accounts associated to the default Launcher Role and is required for one or all of the following permissions:
Report Use Roles
• Run Reports – This permission allows the execution of any report a user has defined or to which they have been granted rights to via the Visibility option.
• Publish Reports – This permission allows the user to publish reports they have defined or to which they have been granted rights to via the Visibility option. For more information see Creating Published Reports.
Import/Export Roles
• Extract Data – This permission allows export of GL data from the Prospero system. For more information see the Data Extract Tool.
• Import Data – This permission allows import of data to the Prospero system. For more information see the section on the Excel Import process.
• Perform Integration – This permission allows integration functions between the Prospero system and any external GL system. For more information see the Data Integration process.
The Standard User License also allows you to grant any permission associated to the Limited User licenses. See the section on Limited User License for more information.
Note: While a Standard User license can be associated to any Role which has fewer permissions, a Standard User cannot be associated to a Role which requires greater permissions. In short, associating a Standard User license to an individual that requires only limited Prospero functionality – and thereby permissions - is not necessarily the best utilization of that license.
